AC Milan and Marseille drew 1-1 at the San Siro to leave Champions League Group C wide open.

Milan took an early lead when Marco Borriello rounded Gabriel Heinze and shot past Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda in the 10th minute.

Marseille drew level six minutes later when Lucho Gonzalez pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired home after Milan goalkeeper Dida failed to clear a cross.

Madrid top the group with 10 points after a 1-0 victory over FC Zurich, Milan has eight and Marseille is one point further back in third.

Zurich have just three points and are out of contention, but all three other teams could still qualify for the knockout phase.

In the final round of matches on December 8, Milan travels to Zurich, whilst Marseille hosts Madrid
