Wellington Phoenix soccer defender Manny Muscat is facing a three-match ban from the A-League.

The league's independent match review panel has proposed a three-match suspension after he was sent off during his team's 1-4 loss to Brisbane Roar in Brisbane last night.

The Phoenix have until 2pm (NZT) tomorrow to accept the sanction or have the matter heard by a Football Federation Australia disciplinary committee.

Muscat was red-carded in the 57th minute by referee Alan Milliner for violent conduct after appearing to elbow an opponent in the head.

As well, the Phoenix team face possible sanction after the panel issued a team misconduct charge against them for collectively showing dissent towards a match official.
