A-League players have voted Sydney FC's Vitezslav Lavicka the best coach of the season.
The Czech mentor was presented with Professional Footballers Australia's (PFA) coach of the year award in Sydney on Tuesday.
Lavicka, received 66 votes to easily take out the gong from Wellington's Ricki Herbert (30) and Melbourne's Ernie Merrick (29), who was named coach of the year at last month's A-League awards.
The former Sparta Prague and Czech Under 21s coach led Sydney to the A-League minor premiership this season and they face Wellington in Saturday's preliminary final for a spot in the grand final.
"Vitezslav has brought a different level of organisation, professionalism and culture to Sydney FC since he joined the club," Sydney defender and PFA president Simon Colosimo said.
"Our players understand their roles in the team and have confidence in the system we play.
"This confidence has driven a new level of unity amongst the playing group and staff.
"Obviously PFA members have recognised this when competing against us this year."
