All Whites football striker Chris Wood has been thrust immediately into action for Millwall, coming on as a second half substitute in their 2-0 English Championship loss to Cardiff City in London today.

The Londoners conceded two goals in two minutes soon after halftime before Wood, who yesterday completed a loan move from English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion to Millwall until November 20, was injected in the 57th minute as a replacement for Darius Henderson.

The 20-year-old was unable to make an impact on the match, however, as Millwall fell to their fourth loss from six league matches this season.

This is the fifth time Wood has been loaned out from West Brom, where he continues to miss out on first team action. He agreed to switch to The Den until November 20, though West Brom can recall him after the first 28 days.
