Former England international footballer Adam Johnson has been caught on tape inside prison laughing about his crimes.

Disgraced English footballer Adam Johnson has been taped telling fellow inmates that he wished he raped his victim.

The 29-year-old former international is serving a six-year sentence after being found guilty of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl last year.

The Sun newspaper has published excerpts of a video taped inside a prison in South Yorkshire.

In one of them, someone points out to Johnson that he did not rape anyone.

Johnson then laughs and responds: "I wish I f...ing did, for six years", referring to the length of his sentence.

In the video published by The Sun, Johnson also makes crude gestures about the girl's breasts, and laughs about his situation.

The Sun has sources that say Johnson's hopes of being released early are now over.

During Johnson's trial, it was said that that he had kissed and touched a 15-year-old girl.

He told jurors that he was "ashamed" of his actions, and that he felt "awful," at one stage saying: "I wholeheartedly and unreservedly apologise for my actions".

Judge Jonathan Rose said he was satisfied the girl had suffered "severe psychological harm" and that Johnson had taken advantage of "a young teenager's adoration of a successful celebrity".

In the video, Johnson blames his status as a Premier League footballer for landing him in jail, describing his crimes as "f... all".

He complains about the perceived harshness of his sentence, saying "there's lads on here who's f...ing shagged like 12-year-olds and got 13 months and that".

"D'you know what I mean? They got like half the time!"

In The Sun's video, Johnson also addresses the possibility of him resuming his football career - he had played in the Premier League for Middlesbrough, Manchester City and Sunderland, who sacked him last February, and had won 12 caps for England.

"I've got more chance abroad. You can't get a second chance in England man.

"All them do-gooders they'll come out and say, 'Nah he can't play and all this, he's done this'."

The Sun said the film, which runs for six minutes, was "believed to have been filmed in the laundry room at HMP Moorland," and that it "sparked an immediate investigation by prison chiefs".
