New Zealand's newest member of golf's PGA Tour, Steven Alker, has continued his run of good form with a top-10 finish.

Alker, who will join the PGA Tour next season after qualifying through the second tier Web.com Tour, finished in a tie for fifth at 10-under at the $958,000 Portland Open on Monday.

He carded a one-under 70 in his final round to move up from a tie for 10th and finished four shots behind winner, Mexico's Carlos Ortiz.

The current New Zealand No 3 made four birdies and three bogeys in his round.

Alker started the tournament ranked 11th on the Web.com money list, but was projected to move into 10th.

The top 25 automatically qualify for the next PGA Tour season.
