Leave it to Donald Trump to cut through the clutter and give Tiger Woods some contrarian advice.
While many ever-so-serious talking heads on American television have advised Woods to work hard at patching up his broken marriage with wife Elin, Trump says the golfer should cut his losses, divorce and resume his playboy lifestyle.
"I have a whole question as to whether they should even get back together, the 63-year-old business tycoon and celebrity told Fox News.
"It's so damaged and if the reports are just half true I would recommend Tiger just call it a bad experience, say bye-bye, go out and be a wonderful playboy and win tournaments and have a good life.
This whole thing with sex rehabilitation, I'm not sure I'm a believer.
"Tiger's a friend of mine and I have a lot of respect for Tiger as an amazing athlete, but this whole thing has got totally out of hand.
"I think the whole concept of them getting together is not in the best interest necessarily of either one."
Trump, who has been married three times, thinks it inevitable that Woods and his wife will sooner or later argue again, and it won't be pretty.
"It's so badly damaged that every time they have a little argument, she's going to look at him with blood pouring out of her eyes.
"I think the best thing he can do is go on his way, work hard on his game, win major championships and other championships and continue to be maybe the best golfer that ever lived."
Trump also questions whether Woods has publicly handled his sex scandal well and is not impressed that he did not take any questions from the media on Friday.
"To have such a controlled news conference where the golf writers association won't even attend ... I would just be advising Tiger much differently.
"I would have rather seen him do this (returning to the public arena) a lot earlier.
"The most important thing Tiger can do is get back on the golf course and win."
