Josh Geary shot a superb six-under par 66 today to take a two-shot lead after the first round of the Brian Perry Classic pro-am golf tournament in the Waikato.

Michael Hendry and Troy Ropiha are joint second on 68, with Andrew Green and Andrew Searle another shot back.

Playing at Hamilton Golf Club, Geary was flawless on the front nine to make the turn at five-under par and snared two more birdies on the 10th and 12th holes before striking his only bogey on the 17th.
