New Zealand golfer Cecilia Cho is two shots off the lead going into the final round of the Australian amateur women's strokeplay championship in Perth.
In her first international competition as a New Zealand representative, the 15-year-old Aucklanders shot an even par 72 in the third round yesterday at Cottesloe Golf Club.
The New Zealand amateur champion was on one-under par 215 after 54 holes, sharing second place with Yi Chen Liu, of Taiwan, and Australian Breanna Elliott.
These three were two shots behind defending champion Justine Lee, of Australia, who shot a 69 to edge the overnight joint leaders Cho and Liu.
Fellow New Zealanders Caroline Bon and Zoe Brake also remained in contention on 218 in a share of fifth place after shooting 74 and 72 respectively.
The leading 32 players after the final round of strokeplay will head into elimination matchplay starting tomorrow.
