Seymour will take blame if Warriors tank

If the Warriors do live down to expectations, their new halfback says we can all blame him.
Brett Seymour is quite used to owning up to misdemeanours, and if the Warriors tank in 2010, he'll put his hand up again.
"I take full responsibility for our team's results," the former Brisbane and Cronulla halfback told the Star- Times. "It will all stem back to my performance and how we perform as a team. It will all be on my shoulders, and that's the position I want to be in. At this stage now, it is the arena I feel I should be in."
Seymour's 101-game career until now has been alongside senior halfbacks Darren Lockyer at the Broncos and Brett Kimmorley at the Sharks, but for the first time the 25-year-old has been given a clear mandate to lead a side.
He won't say whether the Warriors will play a traditional first receiver system, or the modern right-left field split between halfback and standoff, but with new No 6 James Maloney having played just four senior games, it's clear Seymour will be dictating the Warriors' offence. "It's definitely a challenge but it is something I am looking forward to," he says. "You watch class players in the NRL and they lead their team around well, they don't have to be brilliant every week, but if their team is winning, they usually have a good game."
Seymour watched plenty of Warriors matches after he was sacked by the Sharks after round six last year, and talks with authority about the ability out wide of Manu Vatuvei and Brent Tate, the mobility of his backrow, the promise of hooker Aaron Heremaia and how they must make better use of Lance Hohaia's impact.
He's also willing to say the Warriors will try to dispose of last year's painfully one-dimensional attack. "A lot of emphasis was throw the ball to Stacey and see what happens, and a lot of guys have to understand it takes the whole 13 to be involved and not let one or two blokes to be responsible."
