Penrith star Michael Jennings says he feels comfortable at the Panthers despite not knowing what the future holds for him at the foot of the mountains.
Jennings has refused to confirm he'll remain a Panther long term and says he hasn't spoken to coach Ivan Cleary about where he fits into his plans for the NRL club.
The electrifying centre says off-field controversies have rocked the team this season, but insists the players have been united by the club's surprise decision to part ways with favourite son Luke Lewis.
Jennings said he feels settled despite the storm surrounding him and the team.
''I think I feel comfortable at the moment, only just for the reason that I'm not really focused on my future or all the other stuff with the future here,'' said Jennings, who was dumped to reserve grade by Cleary earlier in the year.
''My main focus is just to play my footy and enjoy it how I used to play and all the other stuff, I'm not really bothered.
''I haven't spoken to Ivan about it. He's not really talking to me about that - his main focus is just for me to do my job on the field.
''All I can do now is do my job and just enjoy my time with Lewy and the boys and just come in each day with a positive attitude.
''With all the adversity we're getting here at Penrith, it's distracting for some of us but, as a playing group, we are all coming together ... after the announcement of Lewy.''
There has also been speculation about the future of another local junior, Lachlan Coote.
The fullback was also stood down by Cleary earlier in the year, only to be recalled before match day.
Coote says he hasn't lost faith in Cleary and general manager Phil Gould's vision for the future.
''Gus is a smart dude and he knows what he's doing and what he wants and I'm pretty sure he'll get what he wants,'' said Coote.
''I'm pretty sure the club in the next five years or so, it's going to be a great club and probably going to have the best facilities in the NRL. I definitely want to be around in years to come.''
