Ben Henry's season for the Warriors is over.

The centre had scans on his injured knee today which confirmed that had ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament.

Henry will have surgery in four week and is not expected to be back playing again until pre-season next year, meaning that any dreams of playing for the Kiwis at this year's World Cup are also gone.

It is a huge blow for the Warriors, especially as he had been one of their best players in recent weeks.

The 21-year-old joins Steve Rapira and Sione Louisi as Warriors who have had their seasons cut short by knee injuries.

It is likely that Carlos Tuimavave will play as centre against Newcastle Knights on Sunday, but this will further test the depth of the Warriors squad.

"It is devastating for Ben, for everyone," said Warriors head coach Matt Elliott.

"It hurts that much more because Ben has been one of our best players so far, but he'll get the best of care and support from everyone here in his recovery.

"While injuries will always be part of the game it's hugely disappointing for guys like Ben, Sione and Steve to be sitting out the year. We really feel for them."

How do you think Sam Burgess will go in union?

He'll be a superstar. He's a real talent.

It will take him a while to find his feet.

I give him two years before he's back playing league.

Who cares? He's crossed over to the dark side.
