Mitch Evans has moved back into the top-5 of the GP2 series standings after finishing fifth in the rain-interrupted feature race in Belgium.

Evans, who started from third on the grid, moved to second by the first turn before a heavy downpour saw the Kiwi driver drop back a few spots before the safety car emerged and eventually the race was red-flagged for 15 minutes.

Evans restarted in fifth, where he remained for the remainder of the race.

Raffaele Marciello held off Stoffel Vandoorne by 2.088 seconds, while Evans finished 50.526 seconds behind Marciello.

The result earned Evans 10 points, taking him past Stefano Coletti, who completed only 11 laps, into fifth and within 13 points of fourth-placed Johnny Cecotto, who completed the podium at Spa.

The GP2 sprint race of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend is scheduled to start at 8.35pm (NZ time).
