The Gold Coast SuperGP showed no sign of losing its reputation for glitz and glamour when this year's Miss SuperGP paraded in pit lane this morning.

Crowned last night, Gold Coast girl, Ashleigh Sudholz, 20, is the new face of the annual revhead festival at Surfers Paradise

Ashleigh, and runners-up Nikki Walton of Baulkham Hills, NSW and Chelsea Dunkley of the Gold Coast, kept up the tradition of event as they strutted past the V8Supercars after the drivers had returned from their first practice.

Ashleigh works as a personal trainer and freelance model. She was a finalist in the 2007 Miss Indy contest and won the 2008 RALPH Australian swimwear Model of the Year.

Last night the 38 finalists took to the stage in a presentation that included choreographed routines culminating in the announcement of the winner.

As Miss SuperGP, Ashleigh takes home over $25,000 in cash and prizes and will feature on the cover of the 2011 Miss SuperGP calendar.

Speaking to the media in pit lane, she said the contest had been an amazing experience.

"It still hasn't sunk in," she said. "There are still no words to describe it."

"Last night was an amazing event. It's going to be a lifetime of memories," Ashleigh said.
