A serious crash has been reported at Teretonga Park Raceway, after 4.30pm today.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said one person had been taken to Southland Hospital, Invercargill, with serious injuries.

A witness at the track, said two formula 5000 cars crashed into a safety wall of tyres.

The crash looked pretty serious, the witness said.

The cars have been removed from the track.
