Canterbury Tactix cruised past trans-Tasman netball league rivals Central Pulse 54-48 in Christchurch tonight.

A third-quarter blitz settled the issue when Tactix outscored their rivals 18-7 to storm out to an unassailable 43-28 lead.

Having stuck gamely with the home side for the first half, the Pulse fell apart during the third period as Tactix centre and captain Maree Bowden came into her own.

A series of Tactix personnel changes and increased intensity from Pulse closed the gap in the latter stages as the visitors at one stage piled on nine unanswered points.

But the Pulse were never a chance to overhaul the deficit although the final scoreline gave them some comfort.
