Bay of Plenty Magic goal shoot Julianna Naoupu looks to have the most to gain from the 25 netballers named to attend Silver Ferns trials in Auckland.

The Ferns have a three-test series looming against Australia and coach Waimarama Taumaunu is keen to explore her talent during the Auckland 13-16 trials.

There aren't many vacancies in the Ferns but Naoupu's impressive form alongside veteran Irene van Dyk in the title-winning Magic outfit was compelling.

The 22-year-old was named the trans-Tasman netball league's young player of the year for her role in helping the Magic to a 12-match winning streak that finally gave New Zealand the title.

The Silver Ferns will name a 12-women squad for the Constellation Cup series that features tests in Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch in September.

Silver Ferns coach Waimarama Taumaunu said she was looking forward to seeing New Zealand's top Netball talent all competing for national squad selection places.

"Trials are the final opportunity for players to impress the National Selectors and with this being the first year of building towards the World Championships in 2015 we want to give players every opportunity to push for selection", she said.
