The Silver Ferns' quest to defend the Constellation Cup will begin in the deep South this year, with Invercargill to host the first test of the series.

The September 15 test will be the first at the newly restored Stadium Southland and the first in Invercargill since 2009.

It will mark the start of the Silver Ferns' international season, with a second game at Auckland's Vector Arena on September 19.

The five-game series will then move to Australia with games in Adelaide on October 4, Melbourne on the 7th and Canberra on the 13th.

The Silver Ferns broke an eight-year series drought by winning the cup last year for the first time.

Tickets for the series will be on sale later in the year.
