The Central Pulse will play two pre-season games in New Plymouth next month.

The Pulse and the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic will play the first game on Saturday, February 1, and the second the following day as both teams prepare for the trans-Tasman league.

Netball Taranaki general manager Steve Roberts said the two games at the TSB Stadium were a drawcard for netball fans.

"It's fantastic to get two games here," Roberts said yesterday.

"It's a good way to profile the game, the Pulse too and the new players in the side. And it's a chance to get people thinking about netball again."

While there are no Taranaki players in the Pulse squad - Taranaki's Amber Bellringer missed selection after being with the side last year - Roberts said both sides were stacked with quality players.

"Amber missed out this year. Hopefully next year we will have a Taranaki player in there."

Veteran Silver Ferns shooter Irene van Dyk is one of the new signings for the Pulse after a long stint with the Magic and she heads a strong lineup including captain Katrina Grant, Joline Henry, English defender Ama Agbeze, Katarina Cooper and Donna Wilkins.

The Magic lineup is headed by Silver Ferns Casey Kopua and Leana de Bruin. Other players include Grace Rasmussen, Ellen Halfpenny and Brooke Leaver.

Saturday's game will start at 4.20pm, with Sunday's game kicking off at 10.30am.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow, with the general admission price of $17 for adults and $7 for children (two years to 15 years) for both games.
