New Zealand cyclist Greg Henderson has revealed the terrible truth about his sport - it can give you enormous thighs.

In a Twitter posting seen round the world, Henderson shows a picture of a "quad-off" between two German  cyclists competing at the Olympics.

The image has attracted media attention around the world. The Daily Mail headlined its article with: "German cyclist shows off his freakishly large thighs in bizarre Twitter picture."

Track cyclist Robert Forstemann owns the giant thighs, while the less-extreme legs are those of Andre Greipel.

"You thought Greipel has a big set of legs. There was a quad off in the German camp today. Greipel lost," Henderson tweeted.

Greipel finished 27th in the men's road race, while Henderson was forced out of the event with a stomach upset.
