Kiwi shot put queen Valerie Adams has predictably extended her unbeaten record to 36 competitions after a comfortable victory at the Diamond League meeting in Paris today.

Adams' best throw of 20.62m was more than a metre better than world No 2 Michelle Carter of the United States, while German Nadine Kleinert was almost 3m back from Adams in third.

The New Zealander hasn't been beaten since August 2010.

In other results from the meeting, Usain Bolt ran the fastest time for the year for 200m with 19.73s and Kirani James ran a world leading 43.96s in the 400m.Meanwhile, double Commonwealth Games silver medallist Nikki Hamblin continued her comeback from injury with third in the 1500m at the Victoria International Track Classic in Canada, clocking 4:10.01.

Hamblin has had problems with her Achilles tendons and has not been racing seriously since July 2011.

Opinion poll

Will Shane Cameron beat Kali Meehan on Saturday?

For sure. Cameron will knock him out.

It will be close but I think Cameron on points.

Meehan will knock him out. This is his last fight.

I'm tipping Meehan to win on points.
