Mahe Drysdale collides with truck while biking
Mahe Drysdale has escaped significant injury after colliding with a truck while on a training ride in South Korea.
The accident occured while he was out cycling in Chungju on Monday as he prepares for the world rowing championships which start on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Olympic gold medalist escaped with just bruising and grazes to his knees and knuckles.
The accident hasn't forced him to miss any training in the boat since, but his cycling has been curtailed.
Drysdale suffered a more serious accident while cycling in Germany ahead of last year's Olympic Games. He injured his shoulder in a crash which forced him to miss the final World Cup regatta and hindered his buildup to London.
The five-times world champion, who returned to training in June following a post-Olympic hiatus, will contest the men's single sculls heats on Sunday afternoon (NZ time).
