Angie Petty beat the 2017 World Athletics Championships qualification mark.

New Zealand athlete Angie Petty took a giant leap towards the London 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships.

The 25-year-old went under the women's 800 metres A-standard qualifying time for the world champs in July and August at the USATF Distance Classic in California.

The Canterbury runner finished third in an international field with a time of 2:00.4 behind Brenda Martinez and Adelle Tracy.
