All Blacks star Dan Carter is fizzing at the prospect of fatherhood.
The 30-year-old revealed on Twitter yesterday that his wife Honor was 21-weeks pregnant with their first child.
"I'm very excited. It's great news," Carter said today as he fronted the rugby media in London after All Blacks training.
"We're pretty private people so we've been keeping it quiet. She's well over halfway now so we thought it was about time to share the news."
Carter has been hitting up some of his team mates for what to expect, especially in the sleeping department.
"I'm making the most of the next few months, making sure I get plenty of sleep. That's the advice from the guys that have had children in this team."
Carter laughed at suggestions the child had to be sporty with Honor a former Black Sticks hockey striker.
"There's reasonable genes there, so who knows"
Carter has been battling an Achilles injury that saw him miss last week's win over Wales but he looks increasingly likely to be involved in the last test of the year against England at Twickenham on Sunday (NZ time).
