The funeral of All Black and Manawatu rugby great Frank Oliver will be held in Palmerston North on Saturday.

One of the rugged men of game in the late 70s and 80s Oliver, 65, died suddenly at his home in the city on Monday

Oliver played 43 matches for the All Blacks including 17 tests.

His funeral will be held in the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit on Broadway Ave at noon. 

The service will be followed by a private cremation.
