All Black Dan Carter has joined Twitter.
The rugby star has made his first tweet, essentially noting he was finally on the social media service.
It did not take Carter too many minutes to attract more than 4000 followers.
Wife of eight months, Honor Carter, was supportive and did not even seem to mind at the speed with which her husband was adding followers.
"Yes it's true, my husband has officially joined Twitter! Make him feel welcome & follow him," she said.
When it was pointed out that Dan Carter nearly had more followers than she did, Honor Carter, who has 5144 followers, replied: "I know he's shown me up big time!"
Dan Carter, who described himself as a professional rugby player "chasing an oval ball around and making my dreams come true", seems in no hurry to start showering the cosmos with his wisdom.
And given how unruffled Dan Carter always seems, anyone hoping he might slip up and say something truly revealing could be in for a long, unfulfilled wait.
In fact, as far as the All Blacks are concerned, Twitter's most interesting days may already be behind it.
Remember Cory Jane and Neemia Tialata back in 2009 revealing they had not been selected for a test against England 24 hours before the team was officially released. By the time the Rugby World Cup came around last year Twitter-happy All Blacks had been muzzled.
An hour after Dan Carter's first Twitter message announcing he had arrived on the site, he had still not felt inclined to add anything more.
Waiting, waiting.
