Troubled Wallabies star Kurtley Beale is set for some good news with his likely recall to the test line-up to face Wales in Sydney.

Beale is tipped to go straight back into the starting side at fullback, with Adam Ashley-Cooper moving to the wing to replace Cooper Vuna.

The Melbourne Rebels utility, currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, has been charged with assault following an alleged altercation at a Brisbane hotel last week.

The ARU said Beale was still available for selection with their own disciplinary process on hold until the court matter was resolved.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans said Beale still had to prove his fitness but his prodigious talent couldn't be ignored ahead of the Allianz Stadium clash on Saturday afternoon.

"He started some contact work at the end of last week and that will be escalated early this week and if he gets through that graduation, he'll be good to go," Deans said today.

"Kurtley's a class player so if he's fit and ready to go, clearly he'll have a jersey on, we'll just have to make the decision whether it's a starting role or off the bench."

Despite a 25-23 victory over Wales, Deans said the Wallabies needed to improve their skill under the high ball, which Beale offered the side.

Rookie winger Vuna is likely to miss the final Test of the series after he was cited for a dangerous tackle on Welsh fullback Leigh Halfpenny in the second half at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium, for which he received a yellow card.

Vuna was suspended for two weeks in April for a tackle while playing for the Melbourne Rebels.

He will appear at a judicial hearing in Sydney tomorrow.
