The continued improvement of the British and Irish Lions has got many former players excited.

The Lions kept their tryline clear from an under strength Chiefs team, using their typical smothering defence.

But they also offered a couple of moments of attacking flair, with Liam Williams and Jack Nowell particularly impressive.

England flanker Tom Wood was impressed by the effort of some of his teammates like Nowell, James Haskell and Elliot Daley.

Former Lions outside back Jason Robinson, centre Will Carling and injured loose forward Billy Vunipola were also happy with what the Lions offer.

And while the Chiefs were largely disappointing, Englishman Ben Ryan, who coached Fiji to the Olympic gold medal in sevens, found a Chiefs player he liked.
