The Stormers have ended their disappointing Super 14 season with a 28-22 victory over fellow South African side Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
The teams, committed to attack, scored three tries each as victory lifted the Stormers to a final 10th place in the standings while the Cheetahs finished bottom.
Stormers fullback Joe Pietersen scored two tries for the second successive week in a match that marked the end of the 15-year career of Stormers flanker AJ Venter.
