PROPERTY DISPUTE: Kurtis Haiu arrives at court with his wife, Frieda.

Blues lock Kurtis Haiu made a second appearance at Pukekohe District Court today charged with assaulting a property dealer after a financial deal turned bad.

The 26-year-old, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, was remanded on bail until July 20.

Haiu has not entered a plea on the three charges - assault on a female, assault with intent to use a weapon, and common assault.

He allegedly assaulted property dealer Glen Cooper, while holding a hammer, in the South Auckland suburb of Karaka on May 12.

Haiu left the court clutching his wife Frieda's hand.

He said he was still receiving chemotherapy. When asked about his condition, he said: "It is what it is."

He declined to comment on the court case.

Haiu is on indefinite leave from rugby after being diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of bone cancer.
