Andrew Hore demoted to Highlanders bench
All Black hooker Andrew Hore will play off the bench when the Highlanders host the Chiefs in Dunedin tomorrow night.
Hore has been included in the Highlanders reserves along with English international James Haskell, with Southland team mates Jason Rutledge and Tim Boys starting at hooker and openside flanker, respectively.
Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph has made a number of changes to a forward pack which was dominated by the Crusaders in the team's last outing, brining tighthead prop Ma'afu Fia in at tighthead prop and dropping Josh Bekhuis to the reserves.
The only change in the backs sees Kade Poki return to the right wing in place of Kurt Baker.
The Highlanders starting line-up includes Adam Thomson, Aaron Smith, Hosea Gear, Tamati Ellison and Ben Smith from the All Blacks clean sweep of the Irish during the June test window.
The Highlanders must beat the table-topping Chiefs team to keep their play-off hopes alive.
HIGHLANDERS: Ben Smith, Kade Poki, Tamati Ellison, Phil Burleigh, Hosea Gear, Chris Noakes, Aaron Smith, Nasi Manu, Tim Boys, Adam Thomson, Nick Crosswell, Jarrad Hoeata, Ma'afu Fia, Jason Rutledge, Jamie Mackintosh (capt). Reserves: Andrew Hore, Chris King, Josh Bekhuis, James Haskell, Jimmy Cowan, Mike Delany, Buxton Popoali'i.
