First the Chiefs; now the Blues.

John Kirwan's men are in line to play a mid-week match against France during their three-test tour of New Zealand in June.

The Blues appear to have taken a leaf out of the Chiefs book by targeting international opposition while Super Rugby takes a three-week interval.

Dave Rennie's defending champions will travel to Argentina around the same time for a one-off fixture against the Pumas.

Blues chief executive Andy Dalton told Radio Sport today the New Zealand and French Rugby Unions had agreed in principle to stage the match at North Harbour Stadium on Tuesday June 11, three days after the first test at Eden Park.

France want to be based in Auckland for the duration of the tour.
