Nonu, Hoeata cited by Super Rugby judiciary
Ma'a Nonu and Jarrad Hoeata have both been cited following separate incidents in last night's 40-12 loss to the Crusaders in Dunedin.
Nonu was sent off midway through the second half for a tip tackle on Crusaders winger Tom Marshall and was today given an off-field yellow card for a high tackle on Dan Carter which was not picked up by referee Steve Walsh at the time.
Walsh and Nonu reportedly share some history, something that was referenced earlier in the season when Walsh binned Nonu for an illegal tackle on Piri Weepu in a game against the Blues.
However, there was no question about the dangerous element of the tackle on Marshall in the 68th minute.
Hoeata will also have to front the judiciary after picking up his third yellow card of the season, this time for attacking the face of Crusaders halfback Andy Ellis during the first half.
The Highlanders spent 32 minutes with only 14 men, while the Crusaders also had Corey Flynn binned for a high tackle on Aaron Smith in the second half.
All three citings will be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC.
