Nine All Blacks return to duty for the Hurricanes

Prop Ben Franks and hooker Dane Coles will lead from the front as the Hurricanes All Blacks contingent return en-masse for Saturday's preseason match against the Melbourne Rebels in Geelong.

The pair have been named to start by coach Mark Hammett in a line up that also includes uncapped test halfback TJ Perenara and No 8 Victor Vito.

Five other current All Blacks Beauden Barrett, Julian Savea, Cory Jane, Jermey Thrush and Jeffery Toomaga-Allen are among the reserves in a squad drastically different to the one that beat the Blues in Masterton last weekend.

Lock James Broadhurst, loose forwards Brad Shields and Ardie Savea, first five eighth Marty Banks, wing Matt Proctor, centre Tim Bateman and outside backs Nehe Milner Skudder and Andre Taylor start for the second week running.

And hooker Ash Dixon comes into the reserves after missing the opening preseason match due to injury.

Loose forward Faifili Levave is again unavailable as he recovers from shin splints.
