Blues halfback Piri Weepu has had scans on his head after weeks of persistent migraines.

The former All Black was so concerned about the situation he tweeted how nervous he was on Sunday night and that he hoped it was nothing "major".

The good news yesterday was the 30-year-old's scans came back clear and the Blues expect him to be available for selection to play the Highlanders at Eden Park on Saturday.

Weepu's migraines are not related to concussion or an injury sustained in a match and began before the side travelled to South Africa.

But his tweet suggests they are more than the type treated with a painkiller and an early night.

"Big morning tomo! Bit nervous/scared bout tomo!! Hopefully it's good news about my scan.. Unreal to think something major could be wrong!" he wrote on the social media network.

A flurry of supportive messages highlighted the former Wellingtonian's popularity.

What winning margin and team are you tipping for the Super Rugby final?

The Crusaders will win by 13 or more.

I'm tipping a tight Crusaders win by 12 or under.

The Tahs are too good this year. They'll win by 13+.

It'll be close. But the Tahs will get the W by 12 or under.
