Marina Erakovic and her Spanish partner Arantxa Parra Santonja are through to the quarterfinals at the French Open after they defeated the local duo Pauline Parmentier and Julie Coin 6-2 6-3 overnight.

The match lasted just 57 minutes and was played on Court No 1, the third biggest court at Roland Garros in Paris.

Later this week, they'll take on Lucie Hradecka from the Czech Republic and the Netherlands' Michaella Krajicek for a place in the semifnials.

This is the fourth time Erakovic has made it to the last eight of a Grand Slam in doubles and the second year in a row at Roland Garros.

Erakovic currently has a doubles ranking of 44 and by making it this far in Paris she has kept all of her ranking points from last year's run.

If she and Parra Santonja can win their next match she'll gain a further 400 points and be close to a place in the top 30.
