Marina Erakovic is into the final of the Memphis WTA tournament, having beaten Stefanie Voegele from Switzerland 6-2 6-4 today.

It is the second year in a row that Erakovic has reached the final of this tournament and this semi-final match was one of the more comfortable victories she has had this week.

Erakovic did have three break points against her in the first set but saved all of them, while she was able to twice take games off Voegele to go one set up.

There was a break of serve for each player early in the second set, but Erakovic booked her place in the final when she broke again in the 10th game.

This result means she has recaptured all of the 200 ranking points she was defending this week and has picked up $24,880 in prize money.

It is her third WTA final and she is yet to win a tournament.

In 2011 she lost to Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in Quebec and last year she lost to Sofia Arvidsson from Sweden in the final in Memphis.

Erakovic will play No 3 seed Sabine Lisicki in the final after she beat Magdalena Rybarikova 7-5, 7-5.

The pair have played twice before, winning one match apiece. They most recently played at the Pattaya Open at the start of the month with Lisicki winning 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.

Erakovic beat the then world No 15 on clay in Rome last year, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.

The German is currently ranked No 40 in the world while Erakovic is No 71.
