The dream run for Ana Ivanovic at the ASB Classic has continued with a 6-2 6-3 win over Kurumi Nara in the quarterfinals today.

After a tough first up contest against Andrea Hlavackova, the world No 16 and second seed at the Classic has been in sublime form in her last two matches. The Serb was able to dominate the points and play an aggressive style against the Nara from Japan.

The match lasted for 76 minutes and a telling statistic from it was that Ivanovic won 76 per cent of the points on her first serve, which showed what a dominant weapon it was.

In tomorrow's semifinal Ivanovc will play the Belgian No 3 seed, Kirsten Flipkens, who earlier in the day defeated Sachie Ishizu, also from Japan, 6-4 7-5.

As the scoreline suggests, this was no walk in the park for Flipkens, the world No 20. Sachie, who is 204 in the rankings and had to save a match point against Sacha Jones in the first round of qualifying, put up a good fight throughout the one hour 24 minutes of the match.

Ishizu did look like causing an upset early in the contest and went 2-0 up, but Flipkens was able to get the first set back to 2-2 and then managed to stay in front for the rest of the match.

Later today Flipkens will team up with Ivanovic for their doubles quarterfinals match against Lucie Hradecka from the Czech Republic and the Netherlands' Michaella Krajicek.
