Marina Erakovic is out of the WTA tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, going down 6-4 7-5 to the top seed Dominika Cibulkova in the quarterfinals.

Considering the poor results Erakovic has produced so far in 2014, winning just one match, it has been a good week for the New Zealand No 1 and she should jump up a few places from her current position of 69 when the next world rankings come out.

Her match against Cibulkova, who lost to Li Na in the Australian Open final last month, lasted one hour 38 minutes with just the one break in each set to separate the players.
