A boeing business jet has arrived in Christchurch for its interior fit-out and paint, a job expected to take nearly a year.

The jet left Los Angeles at 8.15am on Saturday and arrived in Auckland at 3.58pm on Sunday and, after a rest for the crew, it touched down in Christchurch at 1.08pm on Monday.

It was flown here in its primer colours and was, to say the least , "colourful".

It is expected that Altitude Aerospace Interiors will take 10 months to complete the fit-out and painting of the Boeing 737-7EG (BBJ)- N705JM - for Samsung Techwin Aviation.
