I found my 1956 F100 panel truck via the internet in Nebraska.

After many calls and emails I purchased the truck and had it transported to Los Angeles so it could be shipped to New Zealand.

As I'm based in London, I planned to be in New Zealand for its arrival.
Customs had other ideas and seized the truck on arrival in Nelson due to a digital dash being fitted that did not show a true and accurate record of the mileage for truck's age.

After weeks of email and help from Petrolhead magazine, it was released.

As I had returned to the UK my Dad and a good friend travelled to Nelson to pick it up.

On the next trip home I got the truck certified and headed for the Kumeu hotrod show west of Auckland, cruising the back roads on the way.

The following weekend was the Rangiora Muscle Car Madness show.

In the first three weeks on the road I covered more miles than the truck had done in the US.

We, my wife and five-month-old girl, also visited the Rangiora and Oamaru shows in 2012.

I'm now looking forward to a trip home next year when we'll add Nelson and Cromwell to the South Island circuit.
