Protests to save a 500-year-old West Auckland kauri tree hit the headlines after a protester perched in the tree refused to come down until land owners agreed not to cut it down.

We're not suggest you shack up in your favourite spot, but we would love to hear about the that special, pristine place in New Zealand you would never want to see harmed.
