The final of Offspring was on Sunday night on TV1 and it failed to disappoint. We were kept guessing right up to the end - Was Nina pregnant or not? Would she get back with Patrick or not? Would Billie and Mick separate over Rhianna? Would Zara and Jimmy's baby survive?

It all ended with Nina's fancy dress 35th birthday party, complete with all the characters dressed up flamboyantly, dancing to disco tunes, while Nina and Patrick ran off to get a scan to check her pregnancy.

Series 2 ended with Nina having to choose between Patrick and Chris and over in Australia fans were setting up Facebook pages to encourage her to choose Patrick. (Team Patrick etc)

If the writers of Offspring had decided to write Dr Patrick Reid out of the story, it would have been risky, so they decided to have a happy ending instead.
