I used to use public transport, namely the train, but when the unreliability of the service affected my ability to get to work on time on a regular basis, I gave up and went to my car or motorcycle (although bike registrations are a total rip off).

I would prefer not to use my car or bike but I just can't trust the train to get me in to town in time for work, or for that matter not stranding me at the train station with no idea when the next train will be on my way home.

I have often thought how riding a cycle would be a great way to get around, but honestly, it's way too dangerous. It's almost like our roads are designed to run cyclists over not share the lanes. I'd never do it and I worry for anyone who does.
