It was costing me $10 a day to drive my twin-turbo Legacy to work, a round trip of 34km in Auckland.

So, I bought a mountain bike and attached an electric motor to it, I go a slightly different way, making a round trip of 26km.

It's so fast and climbs hills so well that I don't even need to pedal.

It now costs me 12 cents a day on power, the equivalent of 1,260MPG, and it's fun.
