Why not keep the royal family?

New Zealand and British links are steeped in history. The royal family epitomises our roots and provides focus for those of us that hold on to our British heritage with great pride.

There will always be some who wants to go it alone - just like a teenager who thinks that shedding the shackles of home will lead to freedom of choice and actions. We know how false that premise is.

What's to be gained by severing the colonial linkage?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
