I will never forget my wife telling me off for not being careful enough with hot drinks around our then toddler-aged kids.

Wouldn't you know, it was the wife's inattention with a cup of coffee that burnt our youngest, who pulled the cup off the bench and all over her head and face. Thank God she wasn't scarred at all.

But just every now and then when the wife is being a bit sanctimonious I just say, remember the coffee darling? And she goes very quiet.
