When people think of Taranaki they think of a small town New Plymouth with nothing to do, but New Plymouth has everything from the mountain to the beaches.

Mount Taranaki is a magnificent mountain with amazing views - you can see to Auckland on good days.

New Plymouth has many beaches that are a complete hit in summer and winter - you're never far away from the water around here!

We also have plenty of farmland all around us. Many of us live just five kilometers away from country land where you see pigs, cows, horses and goats.

Taranaki also has great attractions and events. Residents are proud to say we have the Festival of Lights, the most magnificent walk through the park at Christmas time.

Taranaki also is very culturally diverse with lots of international students, and Japanese and Indian shops.

Taranaki is not small, and it's not big, it's just right with different shops and attractions including our big hydroslides and beautiful scenery bush walks.

I believe Taranaki is the best place in New Zealand!
