This is a shot of me paddling off 'gutter drop' on the Egua River in Val Sesia, Italy, in May 2012.
I was living in Spain for a while until May last year, and Italy has amazing paddling in the Alps region between May and June, which is when the snow melt happens.
Italy has so many hidden alpine valleys with beautiful villages that have granite bedrock creeks running through them, making it a classic kayaking destination.
Oh, and the food and wine were incredible too!!
