The best place to live in New Zealand? Karamea.

For those of you who don't know where it is, I don't blame you. Follow the main road north from Westport on the West Coast for about an hour or so, and voila. Karamea.

We're a small country town, with about 600 people, a Four Square, two restaurants and a pub.

Karamea's version of a traffic jam is a few cars stuck behind a tractor. It's like taking a step backwards in time to 1980s New Zealand.

We live on the doorstep of Kahurangi National Park, the Heaphy Track and the Wangapeka. It's a outdoorsman's paradise, which is why I love it here.
